Why 'Shadwell'?

Why have I chosen the name 'Shadwell Genealogical Services' for my enterprise? Mount Shadwell is a volcanic cone 'mountain' on the southern slopes of which sits the town of Mortlake in south-west Victoria. My maternal great-great-grandparents - Cathcarts, Mathesons and Louttits - settled in the Mortlake district - at Mortlake, Ellerslie and East Framlingham - in the 1850s and 1860s. I have spent much of my life at Mortlake where I own a house named 'Gilgad', after Gilgad in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, home of my Cathcart ancestors.
